Here are  some suggestions to help you get started:
1. Seek the Lord and agree as husband and wife on your decision to home school.
2. Research home education by reading several basic books on home education. See Taris Book List.
3.  Learn about state laws and requirements.  See HSLDA.
4,  Make arrangements to comply with the law.
 5. Get your home and life in order by establishing discipline in child training and your use of your time.
6. Decide on your philosopy and choose methods and teaching materials that you feel comfortable in starting with and that would be appropriate to the age and learning styles of the children.  See Tari's Book List.
7. Reevaluate and experiment with different materials and methods and make adjustments as you gain experience. Change curriculums as often as necessary.  See Tari's Curriculum Suggestions.
8. Throughout the educational process you will want to give priority to your children's spiritual and character development.
Be grateful to the Lord! You have just begun a whole new and different way of life in which the home is the center of life and learning.
Through home education, parents can experience in a unique way their responsibilities in bringing up their children to the Lord.
